My Heaven on Earth

Hey Fam!!
It was SO nice talking to you guys yesterday. J I love seeing your faces and hearing your voices and just overall feeling your warm spirit. You guys are all so much fun! I loved laughing with you guys last night. But now that we´ve talked so much last night I don´t really have a ton to say. Haha

Just that I love you guys so very much. I´m so blessed to have such a wonderful faithful family. You all have really created a heaven on earth for me and I´m so grateful for a family who lives the gospel and who are keeping God´s commandments. I will be forever grateful for my decision to serve a mission and forever grateful for all your support at home.

Being here on the mission I´ve learned so much about myself and God´s plan for His children. I now have a better knowledge of how to raise my future family in righteousness and how to build spiritual protection from satan´s powers. I what all of you to know that I know that the church is true, and that we should live the gospel of Christ. I hope that EVERYONE in my family will make it to live with our Heavenly Father again someday and that we will always be able to look at life with spiritual eyes and see the bigger picture.

Thank you for all your love and support. I miss you and love you. J

This Sister is Having WAY too Much Fun!!

Hey fam!
First of all it was WAY nice hearing all your voices last night! It was a surprise for me too that I was able to call. We woke up in the morning and went to church like normal. Then after lunch while we were having our additional study time Sister Rider came home and told us that we could call our families!!! I of course jumped up screaming and did a little gig. I was so happy to talk to you guys! And now I´m looking forward to talking to you guys for mother’s day. Plus it was such a surprise to hear Bryan and Elise´s news about their little baby girl!!! That´s so exciting! And it´s even cooler that by the time I get home she´ll be ready to pop! ;) I can´t wait to get to know Miles again and babysit for you guys!

But as for the missionary work here in moyobamba, it has been slowing by quite a bit. L Which is a little hard on Tenicela and I, but we´re still just trying our best. We´ve had a lot of changes in the mission lately which is kind of exciting and new. Although as a mission we didn´t do every good in the ways of baptisms in the month of April, things are starting to look up.

Everyone is saying that transfers are going to be crazy this change and we won’t find out if we have a change or not until after internet time. Usually you can feel a change coming on, but I really have no clue whether I will be staying or going, I don´t even really know what I want. The four of us sisters have had a BLAST with our time here in Moyobamba living together, it will be hard if one of us has a change.

Today is my comp´s birthday!!! Last night we waited till she went to bed and we decorated the whole apartment with balloons and streamers and confetti then when I went to sleep too, the other sisters tapped the door off with large poster paper and we had all written on saying Happy Birthday. Then this morning Tenicela and I (my comp) went for our run and when we came back we made a big breakfast (French toast, they love when we make American food) and then we all gave her some gifts and then tonight the two of us will be going over to a members house to have a big party with all the branch members (they love birthday´s here in peru) J I´m excited.

Things are going great and I am so happy. J Thank you for all your love and support. I pray for you all every day. J Hugs and kisses!
Love, sister Price! J

PS mom. Please tell The Walls congrats on their baby! I´ll write her a letter soon. J

Hey fam!
WOW! What a conference!! Was that good or what!? I LOVED the talk given by Elder Holland when he spoke about the two sister missionaries and that man who spit his food on them.

No, I haven´t had anyone spit food at me, however I have had all sorts of people yell and argue with me. I have had a sea of people tell me I´m going to Hell and that I worship the Devil. Sometimes it is really hard for me to hold my tongue, but I loved the way Elder Holland put it - defend the church of Jesus Christ with love, but defend it. It was a wonderful talk. I also loved the talk about the Preach My Gospel manual and how every parent should study it. Seriously guys, Preach My Gospel is SUCH an inspired book as I have been in the mission and come to love this book I have often wondered why I never had read it before, or why the church doesn't teach the youth from this book until they are preparing for a mission. Preach My Gospel goes way further than mission training. This book is for EVERY kind of relationship or stage we are in life. Through Preach My Gospel, we can learn how to better teach and understand people needs and worries in life. I love this book! So I´m going to invite everyone to study Preach My Gospel.

But anyways conference was awesome. It´s always super fun watching conference with all the gringos.  Hopefully you all love conference and learned lots.

Anyways… Nothing too exciting is happening here in Moyo. We don´t have any baptisms coming up but we are finding some new families which is nice. I´m just praying that they can progress and we can set a baptism date with them.

OH! Funny quick story, so we are teaching this family who has lots of sons. The oldest is named Jorge and he is 22 years old. We always try to teach our investigators with a member so the only person suitable for this job was sister Lit. Sister Lit is 24 and a return sister missionary. She has one of the strongest personalities ever and she is single and the WHOLE world knows she really wants to get married. So we decide to ask her to visit Jorge with us - she agreed and we planned on meeting her at the church right before the appointment. We show up at the church and there is sister Lit in a tight dresses with high heels…. Oh no!….. We told her how good she looked and that she was going to steal Jorge´s heart. She giggled and whipped her hair around and told us that wasn´t her intention…. Yeah RIGHT!. Haha so we walked to Jorge´s house and his mother answers the door and invites us in. It didn´t take long for Lit to shout through the house for Jorge. He came out from the back just expecting to see us, but when he saw Lit his face was priceless. Then we started the lesson and Lit taught everything, she wouldn´t let us get a word in. haha I felt like I was a third wheel on a bad awkward date. Haha! It was SO funny. There are a lot more details but I don´t have time to write them all, but once my comp and I got back to the house we laughed and laughed and laughed. I love my mission. People are so funny sometimes.

Have a good week! The church is true! Go invite someone to church! ;)

Burning My Skirt on Purpose!!

Hey Family!!
This week was SO much fun. J First of all this Saturday was Reninger´s baptism. J It was so beautiful. He had a little problem with his work and couldn´t come to church this Sunday and get confirmed so we just did it right after the baptism and it was really spiritual. I sang in Spanish and then in English. It was a lot of fun. J But now it´s back to square one.

We have had troubles finding new people lately and we don´t have anything lined up for baptism for April so we´ve got to work hard to find someone. We have been teaching a couple families and they all fell through, but we´re staying positive and working hard. J

Today is cambios! (transfers) I don´t think I´m going to have a transfer or my comp or the other sisters, well I hope not. We have SO much fun together and we´re all just best friends. Like for example this Saturday night we had a “sleepover” . We all live together but we pulled out all of our mattresses and slept in the front room. We ordered pizza and made popcorn and ate ice cream (we all had belly aches in the morning, but it was worth it)

We opened our little party with a prayer (because we are just cute like that) haha Then gave each other little gifts and burned my skirt. We threw the party for a couple of reasons:
  1. Today is transfers and we´re not sure we are going to get a change
  2. Because Tenicela (my comp) Hna. Quispe (Rider´s comp) finished their 12 week training program which is a big deal in the mission.
Sister Ryder now has 15 months in the mission and me - I have 1 year!!!! It was a blast! Then to finish off the night we watched the Joseph Smith movie in Spanish (we picked it because it has a little love story with Joseph and Emma) haha J

It was so much fun. J I love the sisters I live with. We all support each other and try to make each laugh when someone is down and we´ve just become a little family. J I love it here and I hope we wont have a change today but we´ll have to see.

I love you all! I hope you are all happy and enjoying this adventure we call life. J
Love, Sister Price. J
Hugs and kisses!

Challenge: Pray for Missionary Experiences!

Hey fam!
Alright, everyone is just keeps having babies and what not. By the time I get back the family will be so much bigger! I love it. Life is so much fun.

But anyways the work is still going great here in Moyo. This week Reninger had his 2nd interview and will be getting baptized this coming Saturday. I´m way stoked! He´s is awesome. Although he has a problem with his job. He works in a casino and from day one, he has been telling us he wants a new job because he doesn´t feel good working with that kind of crowd. Plus his hours are super weird and sometimes he will work all night and he has stomach problems because of eating during weird hours.

But anyways, for baptism our investigators have to attend church at least 2 times. Reninger had come to church one time and he had to come to church again this Sunday to make his goal for baptism this coming Saturday (I know it´s a little confusing but stay with me, I´m getting somewhere) We went Friday night to verify that he will be able to come to church this Sunday. First off he told us that, “well I have to work from 10 at night until 7 in the morning, I know I´m going to be really tired” which made us a little disappointed and we didn´t really know what to say to him, but then he said, “but if I´m at church I know God will give me energy to be there” YEAH
From seeing all the sin that goes on, sometimes I get a little sad or feel overwhelmed or lose faith that the people here in Moyobamba aren´t going to listen to me, or that they aren´t going to want to change or wont feel the spirit. However Reninger is just another testimony to me that there are people prepared for the gospel. There are people who feel the spirit and have hope for the future. My comp and I are always looking and praying for help to find those people who are prepared for the gospel.

I love this work and I challenge all of you to pray for a missionary experience this week. Something small. :)

I love all of you guys and I hope everyone is happy and enjoying life. :) Don´t forget to spend me pics of all the family stuff! I miss you guys. Hugs and kisses!!!!

I Have the Best News and it is that Christ LIVES!

How was my party that I wasn´t there for? ;) You guys are awesome I miss you guys so much. How was the tasty French dip and strawberry shortcake? Hmmmmmmm. Did Kyle help you make the shortcake? He should´ve because He makes WAY good shortcake. I know this because he made me some last year for Valentine ’s Day, not that I´m trunky or anything… ;) but yep it´s kind of crazy that I have 6 months left in the mission. Time goes by so fast. I can´t believe I´ve been in Moyobamba for 2 transfers now. So crazy.
I´m still loving it here, but this week was a super crazy week. We´ll just call it "Elder Scott Grow week". So every morning this week we would all go to Rioja and practice our song. Then Friday we went to Tarapoto which is about a 3 hour ride and stayed the night with some of the sisters. Then Saturday we drove back up to moyobamba and then that same night had another training from Elder Grow. Then Sunday we went to Rioja again for our conference. Needless to say, it was a busy week; however, I enjoyed every minute of it!
Elder Scott Grow is from the 70 and he is awesome. I loved listening to his training's and his wife is SO cute and friendly. I´m pretty sure they made everyone trunky because he kept talking about how much he loves his wife and she kept saying how much she loved him…. It was blissful. Haha, but just being in all those training's made me so excited to keep working! He presented all these new ideas and plans for our little branch. He was so spiritual. I feel so blessed for the chance to work along beside him and listen to his counsel.
When I went to Tarapoto this week, I got to meet all the new white girls in the mission! There are so many that I haven´t met before! They are all so cute and fun. Sister Grow took a picture of all the girls legs because of our bug bites. She got a little choked up and apologized to us which made me tear up a little too. She told us that she is sad to see us like this.
I know my mission is a little different than most and physically it might be a little more demanding but I wouldn´t have it any other way. I love my mission with all my heart. These people have become my family and if bringing these people the gospel means getting bit by weird unknown bugs, or slipping around in the mud, or walking in the pouring rain, so be it. I have the best news and the best message to share with the people of Peru and it´s that Christ lives. I know that Christ has paid for our sins and has overcome physical death. I love the gospel is true and the church which I represent is the only church which holds the all priesthood keys. I hope everyone has an awesome week! Don’t forget to take some time to go to the temple. You guys are so blessed to have temples so close!

Love, Hermana Price J Hugs and kisses!

The Wedding Planner

Hello!!!
How is everyone doing? I´m still doing just fine here in paradise. J Things are going fine and time is flying by fast. This week was awesome! Reninger and Rosa got married this week. The wedding was really beautiful, maybe it was because I designed it… ;)

So Peruvians are very rich in their culture and weddings can pretty much be the same. Everyone always has the same colors and has their first dance as husband and wife is also to the same song, and there just isn´t too much creativity there… So I just thought we should do something different… At the back of our church there is a really huge mango tree so I talked my comp into having the wedding under the mango tree. We started setting up all the chairs and we started hanging balloons from the tree. We set up this really pretty place for the cake and everything. It looked really good! Everyone was like Wow! Thats really different! I couldn´t tell if the ladies in the relief society liked it but Rosa seemed to like it so that´s all that mattered. J All their friends and family came. It was really fun. J But I was a little bugged with our Elders.

First of all they came to the wedding in basketball shorts and tee shirts because they had “a service project” planned that they never went to. Then they just sat around and played with the music the whole time. They didn´t even get up and welcome the non member guests. Our Branch president was a little upset too. He actually talked to them this Sunday telling them to step-it-up.

I remember this lady that came to speak to us in the MTC she said, now sisters if your Zone leaders or your district leaders are 19 going on 12 you can either decide to get upset and impatient with them or you can help them fulfill their calling. Sometimes I have to remind myself of that.

I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is perfect but His church here on earth is lead by imperfect people. I know it´s so easy to get impatient with the leaders - I have sometimes but if I just remember that I´m just as imperfect as they are it helps me have more patience. Haha

Any who! What´s going on in the good old promised land? I miss you guys so much. Can you believe that I have 6 months left! Not that I´m trunky or anything… ;) No really the work is going great and I am happy. J I´m actually pretty excited for this week. Elder Scott Grow is coming from the 70. He will be giving us training on our ward and branch councils. It will be really good. Then the missionaries here and in Tarapoto will be having a special devotional from him too. Woo! So excited. They also told us that he will be doing personal interviews with us. I hope he picks me!

Anyways, life is good and the missionary work is coming along just fine. I´m really excited for Reninger´s baptism. J It should be fun. Anyways love you tons and I hope everyone is happy and enjoying this fun, crazy adventure we call life. J
Hugs and kisses! Love, Aubs.
